PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 113 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database, up from 79 previously.
The ministry also reported 30,246 new cases, down from 31,490 the day before. They comprised 29,828 local cases and 418 imported cases.
The death toll stands at 33,497.
Forty-one of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
Selangor reported the highest number of fatalities with 22, followed by Sabah (18), Johor (14), Kedah (12), Penang (10), Pahang (9), Perak (7), Negeri Sembilan (6), Terengganu (4), Kelantan (3) and Melaka, Perlis, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur (2 each).
There were no deaths in Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of midnight, there were 310,160 active cases. Of this number, 388 were in intensive care units (ICU), with 225 requiring respiratory assistance.
There were also 26,653 recoveries.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 3,711,199.
