Why the hate campaign against me, asks Najib

Hebahkan !!!

PETALING JAYA: Najib Razak questioned tonight the hate campaign by his political rivals against him in the run-up to the Melaka election, wondering how such a tactic would benefit the people.

The former prime minister also wondered what the hate campaign against him had to do with Saturday’s polls, when he was not even a candidate.

In a Facebook post, Najib said he had been made the main target of propaganda by Barisan Nasional’s rivals.

It included news that he had applied for a plot of land and a house in Kuala Lumpur which the Pekan MP said a pro-Perikatan Nasional news portal had valued at RM100 million.

Reiterating that the application was for benefits that were accorded to him as a former prime minister, Najib said he had applied for it in 2018 after BN lost the last general election.

“Yet, it was suddenly brought up days before Melaka goes to the polls.”

Najib said he and his wife Rosmah Mansor were the subject of ridicule, including her picture being photoshopped to look like a character for “Squid Game”, a popular Korean series.

He then questioned if his rivals thought that the people of Melaka would benefit from hating him.

“What did Malaysians get from hating me after the 14th general election? A better economy? An increase in dividends? A more stable government? More foreign investments? What is it really?”

Earlier today, Najib said his office had asked for a residence to be given after the 14th general election as stipulated under the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) Act 1980 that was amended during Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s first stint as prime minister.
