Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the low figure proved that vaccination worked, providing protection to the people regardless of the type of vaccines.
“Vaccine saves lives. We have a little bit of ‘breakthrough deaths’ (cases involving those fully vaccinated), but of those fully vaccinated, 0.009 per cent or 90 persons in one million people died even after getting two doses of vaccines.
“This is happening around the world. You are better off with vaccines than without. Don’t doubt the vaccine as it can save you.
“Of those who died, 81 per cent of the patients had comorbidities and 80 per cent of them are over the age of 60, so these (could have) contributed to the outcome,” he said during a press conference here today.
