PUTRAJAYA: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong had told Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob that he did not need to go through a vote of confidence in the Dewan Rakyat, according to de facto law minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

In a press conference, Wan Junaidi said the prime minister told him this during his first Cabinet meeting.

“Actually, when the Prime Minister was granted an audience with the King, he got the King’s consent that he did not need to have a vote of confidence,” he said.
